Country Music

Filed under: Elitism, Obvious, Pirates and Ninjas, Politics, Uncategorized — by nullp0inter @ 8:40 am

Why is country music making such a strong come back?

I have a hypothesis. It’s the LNS effect.  Basically, xenophobic white people have found their cultural identity. Them colored folks wouldn’t be caught dead listen to music that has traditionally been associated with rednecks and sitting in the back of a pick up truck drinking beer.

Country music in and of itself is actually quite good (from a musical standpoint), especially when compared to top 40 / R & B.

I have not recently met a white girl that didn’t listen to country music though.  It’s even more pronounced in Washington State.  There’s three music stations… c89 (techno for the nerds), Wolf 100.7 (country), Kube 93.3 (hip/hop , top 40).

After observing this, my only concluision is that fair skinned people are flocking to country music as another form of white flight. Not that there’s anything wrong, with that.  Even if they are wearing confederate bras and planning on how to get rid of all the dirty immigrants.  Eventually, they’ll figure out they need someone to clean the toilets and do everything they’re not willing to do for non-ridiculous sums of money. Example, the kitchen at coastal flatts.  Seafood, by Mexicans. Yum.

MBAs should be worthless soon.  Everyone and their mother has one.  It’s getting ridiculous. Everyone plans on getting an MBA and working at Goldman Sachs. Fantastic. I need to find a new plan or become even more ultra competitive and start bleaching my skin.  Oh wait, Seattle’s taking care of that already for me.

VA Speeding Fines

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.  This makes me glad I’m riding my bike to work everyday. Get the lube out, Falls Church City is going to be pounding drivers up the ass hardcore.   2500 + 6 demerit points?  Resulting in a yearly fine?  Please raise the speed limit!  55 MPH when most places have 65 and some even have  75 MPH.

Plus judges are prevented from reducing or suspending fines… jeez.  Bend over, VA!

“It’s outrageous,” says traffic court attorney Thaddeus Furlong of Springfield, Va. “When Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class find out what they have to pay, there’s going to be a backlash like you’ve never seen.”

Nope, they’re just going to have to use more lube.

Oh and I like this part:

Virginia motorists convicted of minor traffic violations will face a new, multi-year tax beginning July 1. Led by state Delegate David B. Albo (R-Springfield), lawmakers slipped a driver responsibility tax into a larger transportation funding bill signed by Governor Tim Kaine (D) in April. Albo, a senior partner in the Albo & Oblon, LLP traffic law firm, can expect to see a significant increase in business as motorists seek to protect their wallet from traffic tickets that come with assessments of up to $3000 in addition to an annual point tax that tops out at $700 a year for as long as the points remain.

Talk about conflict of interest.  I’m sorry, I must be a liberal whining about how Republicans are working to undermine the middle class.  I am completely wrong.  If you’re not successful and rich in America it’s just because you’re not doing what it takes.

I guess it’s going to take being unscrupulous, opportunistic, and unethical.

The real world works like this.

Jacqueline was engaged to a young stockbroker, John Husted, in December 1951. In courting, Jackie had commuted to New York City from Washington to meet Husted. In New York City she stayed at the apartment of her father, Black Jack Bouvier, who liked Husted. However, the engagement was called off in March 1952, on the advice of Jackie’s mother, Janet. She felt Husted, who made $17,000 per year, was not affluent enough, even though his family was on the social register.[5][6] Jackie is reported to have told cohorts that Husted was “immature” and his work was too tame.[7] Years later, Jacqueline’s explanation of the engagement’s end was that she and Husted were not very serious.[8]

Read as years later, it was no longer politically correct to say “I’m an aristocrat and his house was lower than mine, so my parents did not approve of the marriage.”  Most people I suspect would react with disgust and disbelief at such behavior in America.  But 40% control less than 1% of wealth in America. The one good thing about America, is if you really want to and you educate yourself on how to abuse the system (i.e how to use corporate tax shelters to reduce your tax burden) you can work yourself into the aristocracy over a few generations.
I can only hope that I have descendants that live in East Egg.

I’m voting Republican in the next election, not because I agree with the way the run the  country, but because I realize that it’s most beneficial to me. They will restrict the rights of women, open up more loops in the tax law, tax the middle class, destroy social security (forcing all those retirees to come back and work for low wages or starve:),  and in general maintain an air of elitism while claiming to pander to the working class.  I LOVE IT!

Stop blaming Republicans for the shit they do, it’s intellectually lazy Americans that are the reason they’ve acquired so much power.  I say more power to them, if they can keep manipulating people.  I am not MLK, here to sacrifice my life so people can continue to drive H2 and vote for American Idol.  I am here to take as much of their money as possible.

Bill of Rights, wwaaah?

We can take your property whenever we feel like it, forever what ever reasons we determine and we don’t even have to tell you.

Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported,

withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense,

Sec. 5. For those persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order who might have a constitutional presence in the United States, I find that, because of the ability to transfer funds or other assets

instantaneously, prior notice to such persons of measures to be taken pursuant to this order would render these measures ineffectual. I therefore determine that for these measures to be effective in addressing the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, there need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made pursuant to section 1(a) of this order.

Oh yeah, and we can give this power to whomever we want.

Sec. 6. The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including the promulgation of rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this order. The Secretary of the Treasury may redelegate any of these functions to other officers and agencies of the United States Government, consistent with applicable law. All agencies of the United States Government are hereby directed to take all appropriate measures within their authority to carry out the provisions of this order and, where appropriate, to advise the Secretary of the Treasury in a timely manner of the measures taken.

But you can’t touch us, because we’re that good. BOO YAH!

Sec. 8. This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right, benefit, or privilege, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers or employees, or any other person.

More Sadness

Great work Jim. America is eating its own. The lies from the Iron Triangle are at a fevor pitch. Paulson says this is the greatest economy he has ever seen. Bush says we will have victory in Iraq. The NPC says there is nothing to worry about. Dick Cheney says he is not part of the Executive branch. The occupation of Iraq is not about oil. Conrad black swears he is innocent. War criminal Scooter Libby is spared from the big house. Lies, lies, lies. We are a nation of liars, thieves and warmongers. America is completely fucked. I saw a two year old child last night, and I wept.

Reading that made me sad for 0.68 seconds, the same amount of time Data was tempted by the Borg queen’s offer.  Yeah it’s shitty, that’s why you shouldn’t be on the losing side.  Buffet can safely complain about only paying 17% tax rate, with 45+ billion in assets.  Things need to get much worse than they are right now before anything will change.  Dividends = 15% tax rate, ftw.

Sadness

Filed under: Elitism, Financial, Obvious, With a Whimper — by nullp0inter @ 9:08 pm

I read the The Great Gatsby along time ago in high school and even though I got a good grade on the reports, I’d forgotten the real point of the book.  For some reason today I read the plot summary and instantly got depressed.   However, I have a new found respect for F. Scott Fitzgerald.  It seems he was ahead of his time of his time.

Daisy and Jordan are not worth it (on the left) .  The more I think about the more I realize that I don’t want to end up like Jay.  I’m just nice and honest guy, who after a bunch of assholes is like some fresh air.  People can change.  People like her cannot and even try to justify it through feminism and other bullshit.

“No guy is worth changing for. “
“People should like me for who I am.”
“If you don’t  like it, find someone else, because I’m not going to change.”

You know what I’ll take your advice, because unlike you I’ve got until I’m 35+.  Pax.

There are people who are worth changing for, especially when it’s a change for the better.  Usually, when those phrases are used it’s to prevent morally compromising yourself.  When you ask for small simple things, which usually involve a higher level of ethical integrity to implement and you refuse it shows how much you really care.  Can you imagine a raging alcoholic saying that to a potential mate?  Yeah… right.

I now understand why we’re heading towards a below replacement level TFR.

Speaking as a member of the titled upper class, you don’t get it, do you. We don’t have to work hard and stand in the field all day. But neither are we wine-sipping liberals just waiting for another scandal to come out of the White House (Clinton anybody….) . In fact, while we are serious at times, at other times we like to do something, it’s called RELAX. Have a few drinks to take the edge off (yes some of us DO have jobs).

I know for a fact that at least one person got in trouble from this article and had to have a talk with her parents. This is just not cool. How much trouble would it of been to make up names for some of the people. Wether you put ANdrea Rogers or Jane Schmoe you could have still done it. Granted, the story would have still been lame but that’s not my point.

If you want to talk about the racism thing, well, sorry that we don’t all think Ethopians sucking on our world-class heath care and welfare system is what we worked hard for (or parents). That’s just a fact of life, I know that and however else Angela Valdez, which may be an immigrant name for all I know, trys to spin it those of us with a vest and interest in things are smart enough not to listen.

Case in point, if Tobacco wanted a hand job, just give it, I’m sure it’s not a big deal. He was there to RELAX which most people don’t seem to get.

She even admit’s that everyone was a perfect gentleman, and probably is just bitter that she’ll never screw anyone that she didn’t find at the $1 bin. Hey I hang out with a wide range of people and I know the type. I have friends of all walks. In fact I have two friends that work RETAIL so don’t tell me I’m insensitive.

Bitter tears and a sad comment on Angela. Good thing some of my fellow LNS’ers heard to call and came to set the record straight. Thats called having BACKUP and FIGHTING for what’s right Angela. Not wriitng in a paper I never even heard of!

In the end, whatever, just know that anyone who isn’t on LNS is not going to be on either of my yachts (Wet Fantasea, one also in Mass.) and that’s for a REASON
There’s my .2 cents…. from Margaritaville

Late Night Shots’s members are amazing

The reality of your hipster lifestyle is that most of you will live poor lives in cramped basements, have unattractive wives/husbands/partners, bitch about Republicans while benefiting from the tax burden we shoulder, and in general, not be able to experience much at all because you are very unsuccessful professionally and personally. We are better athletes, smarter in business, more attractive, tougher, and, in general, winners of the genetic lottery. Angela Valdez was treated well by almost everyone she encountered until she wrote this hyper-sexualized caricature of the 20-something Georgetown set. She is a known embellisher and clearly a loser in her personal life. Everyone who supports her on this thread is intellectually dishonest and probably a loser as well. Have fun being poor and insignificant, hipsters.

I only hope to have enough money one day so that I can behave like that.  Too bad he’s wrong in one thing… most sports are dominated by black people, alot of them from poor backgrounds.

Not too many black hipsters though >_<

Late Night Shots

Filed under: Awesomeness, Elitism, Politics — by nullp0inter @ 3:07 am

I’ve been reading about the Late Night Shots debacle online at Wonkette and the Washington City Paper. I have to say after reading that one of the commenters hit it right on the head for me.  I am EXTREMELY jealous of the lifestyle they live.  My goal in life is to be able to give my children (if I have any) or myself their lifestyle before I die.  They are the ones who will be running things in 20 years.  They will be the ruling class.  The erring republican majority is only getting bigger.

I like how people were claiming their lives were shallow, or meaningless, or some how “emptier” than a person from the middle class.  That they were obnoxious, asshole, materialists, racists, elitist, etc.

The point is that the guy who said:

He says he knows people talk behind his back, but he doesn’t care. He’s rich, and that’s all that matters. “My brother and I, we do all right,” he says. “Guys with money can do whatever they want.” He grabs me again and says, “You’re kind of cute.”

Is absolutely right. My parents are immigrants, they put a huge amount of work getting to where they are right now.  They live in Great Falls, VA and have multiple properties all over the US.  My dad is the CIO of a company, my mom is a real estate agent.  I of course being the idealistic idiot, wanting to help make the world a better place insisted on pursuing a technical degree in college, something I deeply regret.  They had recommended I study business and eventually get my MBA.  I was an idiot.

Now I am a 21 year old, heading into program management at the world’s largest software maker.  The pay is good, the benefits are amazing, job satistifcation is probably close to unmatched except for Google.  Unfortunately, I actually have to produce value and deliver results.  I wish I could be one of those kids in Georgetown banging attractive young trophy-wives to be, while not actually doing anything and filling my mouth with Republican rhetoric on privilege.  Yes, I can spell it right too!

Instead someone similar to them will probably end up being my boss (especially if I ever have to come back to VA, after September). I wish I could feel that sense of entitlement, the knowledge that I could get away with almost anything, the ability to be a complete and total asshole and still get laid, and in the end I would still be part of the elite telling everyone else what to do and how to live their lives, while being completely insulated from the real world.

Unless my children were stupid or idealistic they would never end up in Vietnam or Iraq.  Also, I could pay a 17.2% effective tax rate while making over 500 times as much as any employees I have, while they pay a 32.9% tax rate.

So unlike everyone else, who whines about how Republicans are hypocrites, how they are such good old boy alpha-males, racists, homophobes, rich, entitled, and shallow people that brazenly and uncouthly hit on girls they don’t know in bars; I salute you!  I honestly wish I could be you and will be dedicating my life to getting into the Social Register (and hopefully marrying someone who is in it or as equally ambitious as I am to get listed.) If I have a daughter she will have a cotillion.

The rest of you can be content to be turned into indentured servants sinking deeper into debt, having your sons sent off to fight in Iraq, pay your taxes, be mistreated and abused by a government controlled by business and lobbying interests.

None of that for me, thank you very much. I will take the Red Bull and Vodka.  Now the real question is, do I go for a Lacoste or classic Ralph Lauren polo shirt? Light blue, or green?
