I would like to point out that all the Scandinavian countries have higher happiness indexes than North America. Booming tech and commodities sector and are properly investing to grow their countries value.  Taxes are high but I would argue that they have no really poor people.

Most white people don’t want to work low-end jobs and would rather have immigrants do those jobs for them.

Why does a country allow lax immigration in the first place?  If they didn’t can you imagine how expensive a plastic tub of strawberries would be?

~ 1 cup of blueberries is like $5 or $6 USD with Mexicans picking it on the cheap. Can you imagine what would happen if a white person (who wants $1000 / week) were to be picking blueberries? You’d have a huge inflationary shock to the system.

23/25 CS graduates could not properly use pointers.  A female senior in my operating systems class once asked me for help.

Her: I did almost everything like he said. I pretty much copied and pasted the example algorithm, but it’s not working. It keeps crashing at this point where it tries to read the information into the input buffer.

Me: Hmm, let me take a look.  Let me take a look.  Did you call malloc to allocate memory?

Her: What do you mean allocate memory?

Me (inside my head): Are fucking kidding me?  You’re a bloody senior with a 3.8 GPA and you don’t know you have to allocate memory to use it?

Me: For this class we’re working in C. In C++ the string and vector classes automatically handled the memory management for you. Since you need to store stuff in a buffer you need to call a memory allocation routing to reserve space to put the relevant information.  That variable with a star next to it is a pointer.  In other words it is an integer that points to the physical memory address
in the computer, where the information is stored. The pointer itself is a WORD, or a 32 bit integer on this specific platform.

Her: Why can’t I just use the variable?

Me (inside): There is no hope.

Me: It’s like reserving a locker in a private gym.  You can’t just go and put stuff anywhere you want.  You might put your stuff in someone else’s locker and then it will get stolen, moved, or damaged when they try to put their stuff in there. The operating system is like a security guard at the gym who will stop you and kick you out if you’re not using your reserved locker.

Her: How come, I can’t just use the = sign to assign values to the pointer.

Me (inside):  Wow.  She has no internal concept of how a computer works.  Somehow she has managed to make it this far by being nothing better than a monkey.

Me: That would be like trying to store your stuff in the piece of paper that tells you your locker nnumber.

Country Music

Why is country music making such a strong come back?

I have a hypothesis. It’s the LNS effect.  Basically, xenophobic white people have found their cultural identity. Them colored folks wouldn’t be caught dead listen to music that has traditionally been associated with rednecks and sitting in the back of a pick up truck drinking beer. 

Country music in and of itself is actually quite good (from a musical standpoint), especially when compared to top 40 / R & B.  

I have not recently met a white girl that didn’t listen to country music though.  It’s even more pronounced in Washington State.  There’s three music stations… c89 (techno for the nerds), Wolf 100.7 (country), Kube 93.3 (hip/hop , top 40).

After observing this, my only concluision is that fair skinned people are flocking to country music as another form of white flight. Not that there’s anything wrong, with that.  Even if they are wearing confederate bras and planning on how to get rid of all the dirty immigrants.  Eventually, they’ll figure out they need someone to clean the toilets and do everything they’re not willing to do for non-ridiculous sums of money. Example, the kitchen at coastal flatts.  Seafood, by Mexicans. Yum. 

MBAs should be worthless soon.  Everyone and their mother has one.  It’s getting ridiculous. Everyone plans on getting an MBA and working at Goldman Sachs. Fantastic. I need to find a new plan or become even more ultra competitive and start bleaching my skin.  Oh wait, Seattle’s taking care of that already for me.

There can be no excuse for torturing and abusing man’s best friend — forcing dogs to fight to the death, under penalty of death. That a high-profile athlete like Vick carried this out in the name of “sport” makes it all the more disgusting.

Football & Boxing:  Creating financial incentives so black people will knock the shit out of each other.  All in the name of sport. Oh wait…

If any good can be gleaned from the Michael Vick situation, it may be an increased public awareness of dogfighting and the need to stop this sickening spectacle. Since Vick’s indictment, animal control agencies across the country have reported a sharp increase in the number of calls about dogfighting.

Next week it will be something else.

While the outcome of the Vick case is a great victory against dogfighting, there is still much to be done. Although Vick’s dogfighting operation has been dismantled, it was only one of countless thousands of such operations across the country, where dogs suffer untold horrors at the hands of their handlers.

I’m sure it’s a great victory, because dismantling one of thousands of such operations is made a great victory by the fact that someone big went down.

Now that we have strong laws in place, it’s time to tackle dogfighting at its roots.

Unfortunately, legions of today’s youths are being sold the lie that fighting dogs is a way to prove their bravery and machismo. This twisted mind-set is marketed by certain forces of popular culture, from high-rolling rap artists who boast about their pit bulls’ prowess to millionaire sports stars like Vick.

How the hell do you get sold a lie like that? According, to that logic I should be in the Marines or Special Ops from playing so many Tom Clancy games.

As a result, the scourge of street dogfighting has infiltrated virtually every urban area across the country. Gang members and street thugs seek street cred by showing they have the baddest dogs on the block.

Although less organized than the larger-scale, professional dogfighting operations run by big shots like Vick, the street dogfighting carried out in dark basements and back alleys is no less brutal. Dogs are beaten, abused and goaded into aggression and then set upon each other in duels to the death. Poor fighters are an embarrassment to their owners and are killed by brutal means.

Compounding the tragedy is the fact that even if these dogs are rescued from their abusers, happy endings are few and far between. Most rescued fighting dogs have been selectively bred for such extreme aggression to other dogs that — even while they are loving toward people — they cannot be safely adopted into the community. Sadly, humane euthanasia is their only option.

It’s too much work / money to actually take care of them. I’m not giving up my Bentley for some dogs, but I will write a blog about it!

I have heard it said that the while Americans may find the Vick case compelling, it’s inconsequential to society at large, and we should be worrying about larger issues. I have heard others complain that Vick’s victims were “just dogs,” and that Americans’ outrage is overblown.

Yeah, it was. Consider the forgotten war on drugs and the murder rate in the US. Of course, those issues are a tad bit more complicated.  Dogfighting is something that’s easy to be outraged over without worry about having to actually think about the issue.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The outcome of the Vick case has far-reaching implications for the dogfighting world and therefore, community safety overall.

Because violence breeds violence, dogfighting endangers communities wherever it occurs. Aside from hurting animals, it nurtures a violent mind-set that makes it easier for people to brutalize other people. The results of a recent Chicago Police Department study bear this out: Of those arrested for animal crimes, including dogfighting, 65 percent had past arrests for battery.

Ah, the fallacy of correlation implies causation.  Even the way you wrote it, it seemed like bad people that commit animals crimes were… *surprise* … bad people!

These statistics, coupled with the sheer moral turpitude involved in torturing our canine companions to death, should be enough motivation for Americans to accept that dogfighting is no sport. It’s a social scourge that we all must take part in fighting.

No shit, sherlock.  Unfortunately, most Americans they need the moral guidance and validation of an actress to tell them what’s right.

Lying with Statistics

This is probably one of the most grievous examples of lying with statistics I’ve seen in the media.

Let’s take a look at what they did wrong, shall we?

Whites are now in the minority in almost one in 10 U.S. counties.

Greg Letiecq recently helped form a group to fight illegal immigration in northern Virginia.

And that increased diversity, fueled by immigration and higher birth rates among blacks and Hispanics, is straining race relations and sparking a backlash against immigrants in many communities.

“There’s some culture shock,” said Mark Mather of the Population Reference Bureau, a Washington-based research agency. “But I think there is a momentum building, and it is going to continue.”

As of 2006, non-Hispanic whites made up less than half the population in 303 of the nation’s 3,141 counties, according to figures the Census Bureau is releasing Thursday. Non-Hispanic whites were a minority in 262 counties in 2000, up from 183 in 1990.

First of all what is this non-Hispanic white bullshit? If people can’t tell you’re not white… then you’re white.  What determines the level of discrimination against you is what you look like not the fact that you just happened to be the son of expatriate Nazi’s in Argentina.  

Next, this a classic example of why you have been to careful when doing sampling of populations. 

I postulate this theory: where there’s a large influx of minorities, there’s a large exodus of white people. White people don’t like being openly racist, so they’ve become much more adept at using more subtle tactics of discrimination (this doesn’t mean all white people are racist, duh). 

For example: Scituate, RI  (98.13% white) or Great Falls, VA (92.83% white)

My parents live in Great Falls, VA.  They live in a multi-million dollar house.  Every other single minority that has moved into our neighborhood has left.  Let’s just my family wasn’t welcomed with open arms when we moved in. I was 1 of 5 Hispanics at Langley HS.  Have you ever looked a districting lines in Fairfax County?  If you ever have a chance check out district maps(pdf) for Stuart, South Lakes, and Marshall.  Now look at Langley, Westfield, George Mason, Falls Church, McLean.  I had a 1+ hour bus ride to Langley HS, when I was in HS.  Why? Well, the WASPs in Great Falls certainly don’t want their kids going to South Lakes or Herndon, where all those dirty spics go. 

The Census Bureau’s report has population estimates by race and ethnicity for every county in the nation. They are the first such estimates since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, scattering hundreds of thousands of people.

The biggest changes in were in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, home to New Orleans. The share of non-Hispanic whites in Orleans Parish grew from 27 percent in 2005 to 34 percent in 2006, while the share of blacks dropped from about 68 percent to 59 percent.

George Bush hates black people.  A lot of the died or left because of Hurricane Katrina. Only white people could afford to rebuild. More white people brings more white people.  

Many of the nation’s biggest counties have long had large minority populations. But that diversity is now spreading to the suburbs and beyond, causing resentment in some areas.

Many Latinos say they see it in the debate over illegal immigration.

In northern Virginia, Teresita Jacinto said she feels less welcome today than when she first arrived 30 years ago, when she was one of few Hispanics in the area.

“Not only are we feeling less welcome, we are feeling threatened,” said Jacinto, a teacher in Woodbridge, Virginia, about 20 miles southwest of Washington.

Woodbridge is part of Prince William County, which recently passed a resolution seeking to deny public services to illegal immigrants. Similar measures have been approved or considered in dozens of communities across the nation.

I’m not an illegal immigrant, but fuck you.  Illegal immigrants are helping keep social security and medicare solvent. Illegal immigrants are keeping your food affordable.

Consider the strawberry farmer in Oxnard, California, who told CNN that not once in 25 years of planting and harvesting had an American citizen ever asked for a job picking strawberries.

Immigration restrictionists claim that Americans would line up for even the dirtiest and most distasteful jobs if only wages were higher. How much higher? A reader told me that he’d gladly go pick lettuce around Salinas, California — for $1,000 a week.

In all, state lawmakers have introduced more than 1,400 measures related to immigration this year, the National Conference of State Legislatures says.

Supporters say local laws are necessary because Congress has failed to crack down on the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. But many Hispanics legally in the U.S. say they feel targeted, too.

“I think across the board all of us feel like we’re not welcome,” said Jacinto, who was born in the U.S. and volunteers for an advocacy group called Mexicans Without Borders.

Prince William County has seen its Hispanic population more than double since 2000, to nearly 70,000 last year. Non-Hispanic whites account for a little more than half the population, down from about two-thirds in 2000.

Greg Letiecq recently helped form a group to fight illegal immigration in northern Virginia, called Help Save Manassas. The group is named for a city surrounded by Prince William County.

“It’s not about ethnicity; it’s not about race. It’s about lawful behavior versus unlawful behavior,” Letiecq said.

Being a racist is politically incorrect.  This is really about ethnicity and race.

Still, he complained that many newcomers eschew American culture in favor of their Latino heritage.

“It’s the folks who come in and try to maintain the culture of the country they came from,” Letiecq said. “They don’t seem to embrace the American culture, the English language, the social norms of American culture.”

Screwed

Actually it looks I won’t be doing any screwing for a while. I did some extrapolation, based on my stanford-binet score from my sophmore year in college. Math and computer science? I should have been an English or Management major.

Some football player in high school was between ~10 to 20 times more likely to have sex than I was. Now, I’m 21 and a college graduate, which means my opportunities will only decrease unless I turn into Roosh. Unfortunately, I don’t care that much for sex and/or girls, so 40 year old virgin seems like my destination.

If my current relationship doesn’t make it, I am done for the forseeable future (5-10 years). Which is a good estimate as my last ‘relationship’ was about 5 years ago to the day and now that I think about it covered the same time period.

I wasn’t so attached to that one, but I’m feel absolutely terrible about what’s happened in my current relationship. We both have some blame to share, but I think more of it is mine, especially since I’m should have known better and should have kept better control of myself.
