John McCain maybe a war hero, but he’s still a mama’s boy

Filed under: Awesomeness, Hero, Politics — by nullp0inter @ 11:21 pm

You can be an alpha male & war hero, but your mother… she’s still your mother.  McCain’s mother is still incredibly feisty at the age of 95 and is campaiging with her son.

Sen. McCain, who was seated next to her, raised his eyebrows and flashed a polite grin during her comments.

“The views of my mother are not necessarily the views of mine,” McCain chimed in.

“Well, that’s my view. You asked me,” Mrs. McCain followed.

After a commercial break, Sen. McCain further tried to distance himself from his mother’s comments.

Like Mr. T says, treat your mother right!

Country Music

Filed under: Elitism, Obvious, Pirates and Ninjas, Politics, Uncategorized — by nullp0inter @ 8:40 am

Why is country music making such a strong come back?

I have a hypothesis. It’s the LNS effect.  Basically, xenophobic white people have found their cultural identity. Them colored folks wouldn’t be caught dead listen to music that has traditionally been associated with rednecks and sitting in the back of a pick up truck drinking beer.

Country music in and of itself is actually quite good (from a musical standpoint), especially when compared to top 40 / R & B.

I have not recently met a white girl that didn’t listen to country music though.  It’s even more pronounced in Washington State.  There’s three music stations… c89 (techno for the nerds), Wolf 100.7 (country), Kube 93.3 (hip/hop , top 40).

After observing this, my only concluision is that fair skinned people are flocking to country music as another form of white flight. Not that there’s anything wrong, with that.  Even if they are wearing confederate bras and planning on how to get rid of all the dirty immigrants.  Eventually, they’ll figure out they need someone to clean the toilets and do everything they’re not willing to do for non-ridiculous sums of money. Example, the kitchen at coastal flatts.  Seafood, by Mexicans. Yum.

MBAs should be worthless soon.  Everyone and their mother has one.  It’s getting ridiculous. Everyone plans on getting an MBA and working at Goldman Sachs. Fantastic. I need to find a new plan or become even more ultra competitive and start bleaching my skin.  Oh wait, Seattle’s taking care of that already for me.

Gas

Stop commuting 25+ miles in your V8 hemi SUV/Truck to work and maybe Exxon won’t laugh at people claiming that the oil industry is making a killing on the back of motorists.  Yes, Exxon is making alot of money but you are buying the gas.

Plus, elections are coming up.  You’ll get a price break, that you can thank Republicans :-)

Let’s encouraged these people who clearly can’t handle their finances to get in more debt funded by the US government, thus indirectly by the rest of American taxpayers.  It isn’t broken, don’t break it.

The more education I actually acquire, the more I realize all this feminist bullshit I’ve been spoonfed all my life isn’t even good enough to use as a mental compost heap. Judith Butler can go live in Mexico. In fact, please do.

Bill of Rights, wwaaah?

We can take your property whenever we feel like it, forever what ever reasons we determine and we don’t even have to tell you.

Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported,

withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense,

Sec. 5. For those persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order who might have a constitutional presence in the United States, I find that, because of the ability to transfer funds or other assets

instantaneously, prior notice to such persons of measures to be taken pursuant to this order would render these measures ineffectual. I therefore determine that for these measures to be effective in addressing the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, there need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made pursuant to section 1(a) of this order.

Oh yeah, and we can give this power to whomever we want.

Sec. 6. The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including the promulgation of rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this order. The Secretary of the Treasury may redelegate any of these functions to other officers and agencies of the United States Government, consistent with applicable law. All agencies of the United States Government are hereby directed to take all appropriate measures within their authority to carry out the provisions of this order and, where appropriate, to advise the Secretary of the Treasury in a timely manner of the measures taken.

But you can’t touch us, because we’re that good. BOO YAH!

Sec. 8. This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right, benefit, or privilege, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers or employees, or any other person.

More Sadness

Great work Jim. America is eating its own. The lies from the Iron Triangle are at a fevor pitch. Paulson says this is the greatest economy he has ever seen. Bush says we will have victory in Iraq. The NPC says there is nothing to worry about. Dick Cheney says he is not part of the Executive branch. The occupation of Iraq is not about oil. Conrad black swears he is innocent. War criminal Scooter Libby is spared from the big house. Lies, lies, lies. We are a nation of liars, thieves and warmongers. America is completely fucked. I saw a two year old child last night, and I wept.

Reading that made me sad for 0.68 seconds, the same amount of time Data was tempted by the Borg queen’s offer.  Yeah it’s shitty, that’s why you shouldn’t be on the losing side.  Buffet can safely complain about only paying 17% tax rate, with 45+ billion in assets.  Things need to get much worse than they are right now before anything will change.  Dividends = 15% tax rate, ftw.

Independent Women’s Forum

Filed under: Awesomeness, Obvious, Pirates and Ninjas, Politics — by nullp0inter @ 8:30 pm

Why do people take labels and symbols for themselves without really knowing what they represent? I’ve seen so many white middle-to upper class trophy-wives to be call themselves feminists, I don’t even find it non-sequitur anymore.

Why aren’t there more women like those in the IWF?

For example, my (ex) girlfriend who claims to be a Republican has the following beliefs:

1) Pro-choice
2) Not religious
3) Pro stem-cell research
4) Doesn’t like white guys
5) Thinks she’s a feminist

So let’s take a look at the Republican party platform:

1) Pro-life, no exceptions (even for mother’s health)
2) Literal belief in the bible, party leader speaks for God. God sent Hurricane Katrina to punish New Orleans. Pat Robertson speaks at the Republican National Convention.
3) See #1, even though they have little to do with each other. Vehemently against stem cell research.
4) LOL. If you’re a Republican and not an (angry) white male… you seriously have something wrong in your head. I mean besides the fact that they [secretly] support segregation, seccession, theocracy, racism, discrimination, etc. Maccaca slipped out of your mouth on accident, YEAH RIGHT!
5) Traditional family values and gender roles. What are you doing going to college and grad school for a Pharm. D. so you can do something with your life. You don’t even know how to cook, wtf?

It’s really depressing how propaganda controls the mob that is America. When I meet most women who claim to be feminists I’m either shocked at how ridiculous their positions or are how uninformed they are on what is third wave feminism.

I also hate the word equality. It’s a bunch of hogwash. What I am a proponent of is EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. That means that you are judged as an individual by your actions, beliefs, etc.

If a woman can with regular basic training can carry a rucksack and equipment that probably comprises 50-75% of her bodyweight for 10 miles at a trot and do it within 1 std deviation of the time the men did it, then let her serve in a fighting position in infantry.

Common sense needs to make a come back. Feminism has become like MADD, an organization which accomplished it’s purpose, but has grown so big and successful and proven to be a money-making machine that board members ousted the founder. It still lives producing all sorts of crapola propaganda at schools and promoting laws that hold parents responsible for their misconduct of their teenage offspring (i.e They went on vacation for a week and my son threw a party at their house and served Alcohol.  Now they’re going to jail.)

On that note, why isn’t Bush in jail?

Late Night Shots

Filed under: Awesomeness, Elitism, Politics — by nullp0inter @ 3:07 am

I’ve been reading about the Late Night Shots debacle online at Wonkette and the Washington City Paper. I have to say after reading that one of the commenters hit it right on the head for me.  I am EXTREMELY jealous of the lifestyle they live.  My goal in life is to be able to give my children (if I have any) or myself their lifestyle before I die.  They are the ones who will be running things in 20 years.  They will be the ruling class.  The erring republican majority is only getting bigger.

I like how people were claiming their lives were shallow, or meaningless, or some how “emptier” than a person from the middle class.  That they were obnoxious, asshole, materialists, racists, elitist, etc.

The point is that the guy who said:

He says he knows people talk behind his back, but he doesn’t care. He’s rich, and that’s all that matters. “My brother and I, we do all right,” he says. “Guys with money can do whatever they want.” He grabs me again and says, “You’re kind of cute.”

Is absolutely right. My parents are immigrants, they put a huge amount of work getting to where they are right now.  They live in Great Falls, VA and have multiple properties all over the US.  My dad is the CIO of a company, my mom is a real estate agent.  I of course being the idealistic idiot, wanting to help make the world a better place insisted on pursuing a technical degree in college, something I deeply regret.  They had recommended I study business and eventually get my MBA.  I was an idiot.

Now I am a 21 year old, heading into program management at the world’s largest software maker.  The pay is good, the benefits are amazing, job satistifcation is probably close to unmatched except for Google.  Unfortunately, I actually have to produce value and deliver results.  I wish I could be one of those kids in Georgetown banging attractive young trophy-wives to be, while not actually doing anything and filling my mouth with Republican rhetoric on privilege.  Yes, I can spell it right too!

Instead someone similar to them will probably end up being my boss (especially if I ever have to come back to VA, after September). I wish I could feel that sense of entitlement, the knowledge that I could get away with almost anything, the ability to be a complete and total asshole and still get laid, and in the end I would still be part of the elite telling everyone else what to do and how to live their lives, while being completely insulated from the real world.

Unless my children were stupid or idealistic they would never end up in Vietnam or Iraq.  Also, I could pay a 17.2% effective tax rate while making over 500 times as much as any employees I have, while they pay a 32.9% tax rate.

So unlike everyone else, who whines about how Republicans are hypocrites, how they are such good old boy alpha-males, racists, homophobes, rich, entitled, and shallow people that brazenly and uncouthly hit on girls they don’t know in bars; I salute you!  I honestly wish I could be you and will be dedicating my life to getting into the Social Register (and hopefully marrying someone who is in it or as equally ambitious as I am to get listed.) If I have a daughter she will have a cotillion.

The rest of you can be content to be turned into indentured servants sinking deeper into debt, having your sons sent off to fight in Iraq, pay your taxes, be mistreated and abused by a government controlled by business and lobbying interests.

None of that for me, thank you very much. I will take the Red Bull and Vodka.  Now the real question is, do I go for a Lacoste or classic Ralph Lauren polo shirt? Light blue, or green?
